EOSC Node Italy supports multi-disciplinary and multi-national research aiming at contributing to change the culture and make Open Science the new normal.
The EOSC Node Italy manages a shared, federated and open infrastructure, representing a unique strategic asset for Italy and for the international community, supporting Open Science and EOSC.
The services provided by the Italian node for several research communities, are thought to provide all the tools, experience, data and support to allow researchers to extract value from data in different research domains.
Goals and added value for the research community:
- Contribute to change the culture and make Open Science the new normal.
- Support a strong federation of infrastructures for data-driven research.
- Contribution to the EOSC developments and policies.
- Increase the opportunities for Italian researchers and research communities.
- Create synergies with EuroHPC key initiatives such as the AI Factory.

- Federated AAI and integrated service catalogue.
- Cloud supercomputing and storage federated infrastructure.
- Data Lake and HPC/Cloud federation of data centers.
- Research and Service product catalogues.
- Data transfer services benefitting of GARR connection with hundreds of Gigabits per second.
- ELSI (Ethical, Legal and Social Implications) services, including the implementation of Sandboxes for AI.
- Access to RPOs and SPOs data repositories using D4Science services.
