AI for Weather and Climate Autumn School 2024
From Oct. 28-31, the 2024 edition of the ‘Artificial Intelligence for Weather and Climate Autumn School’ will be held at the Bruno Kessler Foundation headquarters (Povo, TN). The course, which this year will feature contributions from ICSC -Italian Research Center on HPC, Big Data and Quantum Computing, aims to provide participants with the fundamental and specialized skills to leverage AI for weather and climate applications.
In recent years, artificial intelligence (AI) has become increasingly predominant in weather and climate science. Indeed, the application of artificial intelligence techniques, such as deep learning and neural networks, has opened new avenues for improving forecast accuracy, understanding atmospheric dynamics, and addressing complex climate-related challenges. The objective of the ‘Artificial Intelligence for Weather and Climate Autumn School’ will therefore provide a class of 25 students with face-to-face lectures and application labs through which they will gain basic and advanced skills in the use of artificial intelligence methods in weather and climate science.
