Inauguration of UniNA Superconducting Quantum Computing Center
On Wednesday, May 29 and Thursday, May 30, at the Department of Physics “Ettore Pancini” of the University of Naples Federico II (Monte Sant’Angelo University Campus), will take place the inauguration event of the Superconducting Quantum Computation Center, a project funded under Spoke 10 “Quantum Computing” of ICSC – Italian Research Center in High Performance Computing, which represents an enhancement and expansion of the original Quantum Technologies Laboratory of the Federiciano University.
The event will feature leading figures from the world of research and business today involved in the development of quantum computing, which is increasingly at the center of European and international strategic policies. On Wednesday, May 29, also kicking off the two-day program of meetings, reports and round tables will be speeches by the Mayor of Naples Gaetano Manfredi, Campania Region’s Councillor for Research, Innovation and Startups Valeria Fascione, Matteo Lorito, Rector of Matteo Lorito, and the Head of the ‘Quantum Computing’ Sector of the European Commission Oscar Diez. On the final day, space will instead be given to the presentation of Italian and European projects dedicated to quantum computing, including those funded by the PNRR and promoted by the National ICSC Center and the National Quantum Science and Technology Institute (NQSTI). Guided tours of the new laboratory will also be provided on both days.
