Supercomputing for Research
Saturday, September 27, as part of the fourteenth edition of Trieste Next, the event ‘Supercomputing for Research’ will take place at Sala Predonzani, Palazzo Regione Autonoma Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Just a few months before the conclusion of the PNRR projects, the meeting will focus on presenting Italy’s cloud-based supercomputing infrastructure and the PNRR initiatives that, over the past three years, have contributed to the creation of this new strategic resource—not only for scientific research but for the entire country system. These include ICSC – Italian Research Center on High Performance Computing, Big Data and Quantum Computing and TeRABIT – Terabit Network for Research and Academic Big Data in Italy.
The event will explore the impact and implications of supercomputing in today’s scientific research landscape, as well as showcase opportunities, projects, and use cases enabled by the infrastructure developed through the efforts of the ICSC National Center and TeRABIT. It will also provide insights into its future evolution and its role on the international stage.
